Scottish Shoot! (Mamiya ZD)

Ok, I will be the first to say that I do not know much about Scotland.  But what I do know is that I had the pleasure to shoot a very awesome Scotsman yesterday! With the help of a few friends, we made this shoot a success!

For those that don't know I just recently purchased a digital back for my film camera, my Mamiya 645 AFD! Of course with all good things come sacrifice, I had to sell my NEX7 and my Leica M3! Needless to say it was sad to see them go! The good side of it all is that I love what this digital back is capable of!

One of the things that I noticed is that I am horrible at color correction, especially when shooting in a green environment as we did, you tend to get a green/yellow cast on skin tones. Something that I have to work at as you can tell, but for the most part I think I did pretty well!

Quick History Lesson, did you know the King Jock of Scotland was a great fan of the bagpipe, but his playing angered the neighbors (England) so much that after a court order obtained by local authorities failed to make any difference they invaded!

As Always this shoot was fun and a huge learning curve shooting digital again! Don't worry, as always I did shoot off a roll of film for my film guppies out there! I still have to toss them in a mix of D76 and then the comparison can begin!! Oh, One thing I did notice was that I kept chimping when it came to my digital shots.. don't ask me why because I don't know.. then again, it might be the fear of a bunch of 1's and 0's composing a photo that scares me! haha! OK, now on to the rest of the photos!!!!!!! Stay tuned...Film photos  next!
