First Model/Car Photo Shoot!

This last weekend I was invited to participate in a Model/Car Photo Shoot! To be Honest, I had never done a shoot with both models and cars. The first creative difficulty I ran into was the ability to showcase both the model and car.

For starters, when we first starting shooting, we had a total of about 2 hours of sun left, so I had to act fast. Bringing my ZD (Digital), my Mamiya RZ67, and one strobe, I made the decision to go all Digital on this shoot. I know what your thinking, I sold out, and should of done Film.  From my own experience, I have found that when it comes to a time crunch, and working on a shoot that I have never done, that I shouldn't use that time to experiment on.  I owed the models and owners of the vehicles some great photos, and that was it, no exception.

As always, I took advice from my fellow photographers and thanks to them I was able to pull of some really great photos. One thing is for sure, the Mamiya performed better when there was more light involved. Trying to balance the right amount of ambient and artificial light was pretty difficult when working with a low ISO and having to shoot at low shutter speeds. The key to this was being real still and having the models not move haha!

In the end the only regrets I have was not bringing another light source and shooting on a wide angle lens. But as they say, whats a shoot without some challenges. =) Alright, as always here are the rest of the photos, hope you enjoy them.
