The Missing Light Meter
Last weekend a real good friend of mine came down from out of town. Being that she's a photographer as well.. there was only one thing to do! Yup! A photoshoot!
As with almost every shoot, something always goes wrong.. I blame it on mixing too many developing chemicals. The mishap this time, was that I misplaced my light meter and couldn't find it. So ya, I was shooting blind for the most part! Did I also mention that the first half of the shoot, I forgot my batteries in the car... the sucky part was that it was parked a half mile away =(
One of the things that saved me was being able to use the sunny 16 rule... not to bore you with the details, but basically you set your shutter to your ISO speed and F16 for your aperture. Using my awesome photo math skills, I just played with the exposure triangle in my head.
Alright, confession time... I did chimp on the back of my digital to make sure my calculations where right... haha.. I mean you can't hate a photog for trying =)
In the end, the shoot was great! You can't go wrong with awesome friends and a photoshoot!
