Sad Sad Clown
Although this concept is late as far as halloween goes, its still not to late to be posted as a creative shoot. Now for those that don't know, shoots like this usually take money to accomplish. That said, you might notice similarities as far as the dress goes. That is because its the same from a shoot a few weeks back. The only difference is that I took it upon myself to dye it black. And just like that, not only did we save cash but I also was able to have a "new" dress for another shoot.
As stated above, the dress was dyed black and although you can't tell in the Black and white photos other then the difference in tone, you can see it in the digital photos below. If its one thing I have learned is that not only does a photographer have to be creative as far as themes go, but he or she also has to be creative when it comes to saving cash and repurposing outfits.
What I took away from this shoot is an important lesson and exercise that I believe every photographer should learn. By forcing oneself to think out of the box as far as creating looks or repurposing props or outfits by engaging in other crafts allows one to grow in the area of creativity.
My challenge for you as photographers is to try something new as far as crafts go. If you have an interest in singing or music.. pick up a guitar and get your brain working in a different way. If you have ever wanted to try painting give that a try. Lastly, I leave you with a tip I once picked up from a book I once read. When walking down the street try giving different objects different names. If you see a tree call it a box, if you look up at the sky call it the ground. What ever it is, make sure its different from what your used to. I guarantee you your way of thinking will change and so will your photography.
